How would you have done on the first SAT ever?

Basically if I were to start working on my SAT –in fact first SAT ever I would first decide either to join some institution that are around to help me progress with the SAT or either hang on with the self study which definitely takes a lot of pressure on oneself but yet the productive value is higher.
Joining Institute:
This is one of the first steps I would take if I were to prepare for my first ever SAT. Choosing the institution might not be a bigger deal in these days as you can find such of those in your nearest city.Further there are also online coaching platform where you can have your access.If I were to choose some online coaching platform I would rather choose College Board SAT course. College Board is an official organization which is responsible for giving tests of SAT.
Choosing of books
These days choosing of the best books are one of the hardest tasks. There are definitely lots of books claiming to excel your marks in the SAT. Amongst them I would have chosen the book whose strategies exactly align with my mind set. Now this is quite interesting issue. Although there are lots of books on the market ,every of those books come up with some unique and instrumental techniques The strategy that is marked in one of the book ,might not be as helpful for you as it had been for me.So if I were to choose a book ,my first choice would be on college board book.You can buy the college board book regarding the SAT from online order.If online shipping is not possible you can also buy in yout nearest store.Most of the books are available these days.In the case of college board book there is quite less focus on the instruction regarding the SAT measures but other private books have not only iimmportant questions but also they give instructions or technique as how to deal with the questions and its option while in the exam.
Name of book
If I were to choose some other books than of college board book ,I would have chosen either BARRON’S SAT Preparation book of latest edition or Cracking the SAT of Princeton.Choosing Kaplan Sat preparation book is also one of the helpful book.
Free online Resources
I would have also prepared the SAT with the help of free online resources. Now in the free online resources I would choose majortest.com, collegeboard.com/Sat, Kaplan.com and many more. These resources are helpful because they are equipped with important questions that you might have to face I your real Sat exam. Now I would have also focus more on these sort of online exams. They are important because they give the results as soon as you complete this practice test and the result they produce are converted into the SAT Marking score range.This helps to find your position on the road to SAT.
Online resources even includes many handful of documents in pdf or in html format.You can download several books from online portal that will help you get some idea about the SAT.
How to study
There are sections of Maths, Critical reading and writing in the SAT. If you do best on these sections you are definitely taking your score to huge number. if I were to study for the SAT,I would have focused more on improving my vocabulary level as it is one of the most important section. Also I would keep this habit of reading more and more every day so that I could sharpen my skill over reading passages. I would have also kept reading those tough and different long paragraph essays again and again so that I could comprehend the longer and complex passage in a very short time. My second priority would be in Grammar.I would have focused on some basic grammar rules like Subject –Verb Agreement, Use of Either and Neither, Use of Tense e.t.c. basically I would go through 50 basic grammar rules by majortest.com.
Time frame
SAT is basically such type of exam where time is the constraint that one has to follow. There are some section where you have to complete the task in 25 minutes while some in 20 minutes.Similarly there are also some sections where you will have to complete in 1o minutes.So if I were to give the exam I would rather pace my speed.This requires not stucking yourself in a particular question for every easy or hard questions is of worth 1 point. I would have kept in mind the time frame even during the practice test and many other tests. This is making it very easy while giving the real exam.
Tactics
There are many tactics on the SAT which if followed one can get good score even in his/her very first attempt.
- Guess when you can
Although there is negative marking, it is always worth guessing if you are in confusion with 2 options. Wrong answer will deduct 0.25 while one correct will give you straight 1 points. Basically in a layman term every 4 wrong guess would be compensated by a single right question. So basically guessing might be healthier here.
- Eliminate as much as you can
Eliminating the options is the best way to guess the right answer. What if you don’t know what the real answer is but you know why the other is not the right answer. So try eliminating the wrong answers. The right one will definitely be sorted out even this way
